Product Overview
The O-ring is used to prevent the leakage of vapors from Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) in an anesthesia delivery machines. A common cause of vapor leakage is an absent or damaged O-ring. It is the most common type of seal used in a wide range of static or dynamic applications. It is seated in a groove and it is compressed between two or more parts to create an excellent seal. It is generally made of rubber due to which it returns to its original shape upon compression. It is made of silicone rubber which is an excellent seal for high temperatures in static applications. Silicone compounds are widely used in medical applications because they are very clean and odorless or tasteless. It has good insulating properties. Silicones are a group of elastomeric materials made of polymers containing silicon, oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. This part is compatible for use in the assemblies of GE's Anesthesia Delivery systems.
