Product Overview
A Coin Point Set Screw has a hex drive at one end and a cup-shaped indentation at the other. It is used for the permanent setting or mounting of components. These set screws offer the highest holding capability and are used mostly on moving parts and internal joining parts for a perfect fit. These type of screws have more torque and high strength value. Stainless steel has a unique self-healing property to help maintain its corrosion resistance. Due to the alloying elements used, a thin transparent layer is formed on the surface. In case the surface is scratched or damaged otherwise, this thin layer which is only a few atoms thick, immediately rebuilds with the assistance of oxygen from air or water. This is the reason why stainless steel does not require any coating or other corrosion protection to remain bright and shiny even after decades of use. This screw is coated with nylon anti-vibration locking patch. When this patch is coated permanently it increases the prevailing removal torque and allowing the screw to be locked in any position. This part is used in Giraffe™ Incubator machines. In Giraffe™ Incubator set screw is used to tight the mounting plate and leg together. The screws are tightened from lower and bottom for a perfect fit and a high degree of safety.
